I don't know if it is the same guy but I remember a similiar website from some years back. The only reason i knew of it was that I had printed out some of the 'appointment' cards that were on site for some shits and giggles and good nature fun. I never got around to requesting one of the paddles though...that was before i was over run with paddles all around me ~wink~

This guy sounds like a real kook. Went to his site that was in the story and found that everything on his comments board dated back to 2003. I really think he is one of these religious cases where they use the Bible to justify beating their kids. Either that, and I rather doubt it, his whole deal is just a spoof.
His appointment slips sound ridiculous , along with so many of the other points he lists to tell parents what a proper spanking is.
As I have said, before I have very mixed, ambivalent feelings about parents using corporal punishment, lean toward "Against" for the most part.
But thats kind of beside the point here. His "One size fits all" approach is silly.Taking a hypothetical situation,saying that a parent has decided to use the paddle. One smack might get a 6 year old's attention. But for a 16 year old, it would either get taken as a joke, or produce anger and resentment for the humiliation. Better to take away the kid's ipod for a couple weeks!
I would like to relate another story from my youth. There was a family in my community where the father had a reputation for giving severe beatings and whippings to his kids. I went to school with some of them and remember one of the girls talking about how her father was "going to cut the blood out of her legs",speaking about what he was going to do to her older sister.
Seems one day dad went after his oldest teenage son to beat him. The son gives dad a fatal shotgun blast in the chest. And as I remember he was acquitted, doubtless in large part to the father's brutal reputation.
This was long before the present consciousness about child abuse.That certainly is something to consider if a parent decided to administer physical punishment to a teenager. They might decide to fight back!

Tsk tsk Sherie. WHAT and giggles? I saw the website as well. I'd be curious to order one just to see if the guy actually creates anything of quality. I doubt it's anywhere close to what Ian or WP do, but the price is right.

This guy is more or less of a local, he's just northeast of Pittsburgh. The newspaper website accompanied the story with a poll "Do you paddle your children?" Last time I looked, about 75% of the respondents answered yes. Go figure!!

I am almost positive I saw this on eBay, maybe a year ago. I remember seeing the chart, and the "product" looks similar. Either it's the same guy, or he's a copycat.

Hm, near Pittsburgh? Ain't far from me. Maybe I should pay him a visit and see if I can get him on our side....

I think the site has just resurfaced after a few years. Like Redskinluver said, all the posts are from 2003. It's just another guy who thinks the problems of the modern world are directly related to a lack of loving discipline for children. He's certainly not alone in that, either

*shrugs* I don't think he's mental, and I don't think he's a perv. I don't quite agree or condone the "one size fits all" mentality towards discipline either, though. Of course, this is hardly the place to discuss proper discipline for children today.

I just think it's a blast from the past that people have made way too much of a big deal about.

I am all about having differing opinions; such is the basis of a democratic society. Well, that and Internet porn. However, if that guy isn't mental, then Paris Hilton is a responsible and caring member of society.

Joe Salvati has been around and active for several years. In my quest for factual information, I've followed his activities for some time. He's made the news several times. His, website, too, has also been active for a long time. Many of the postings on his message board, which has open access, are from fetishists who wish to pose as someone they are not and create stories and scenarios. There are a lot of gender benders there.

I think that Joe himself is pretty legitimate, i.e. whether one agrees with him or not, he's there for what he states.

With all of the people and organizations who actively campaign against CP, I find it interesting that here is one who is pro-CP who is campaigning back.
