Juke Joint

One of my favorite scenes is from the 1947 early Blaxploitation film "Juke Joint". Florida Holiday (Katherine Moore) is at a Jitterbug contest at the local Juke Joint and is planning on eloping to Chicago. Mama Holiday (Inez Newell) goes to the Juke Joint to fetch her daughter armed with her umbrella

After a very brief argument, Florida is sent on her way courtesy of Mama swinging the umbrella against her backside several times. Back at the house Mama takes Florida to the back room as everyone watches quietly while Mama loudly rules the roost. Next thing you hear are spanking sounds and the wooping and hollering of Florida. One of the men in the house then starts to spy through the keyhole to watch the spanking and that is the view we get, through the keyhole, as Mama spanks her daughter on the seat of her tap panties with a hairbrush as the film draws to a close.

Here is an image from the video box of the film, including a shot of the spanking. The film was also shot, and used the locations of, Dallas, Texas. So that should make you Texans mighty happy

Rich, you know what? I don't think I've ever heard of that movie or scene in all the years (LOTS of years) of keeping up with such things. Thanks for the tip...and the pic.

Well Gary, I know that I have the clip somewhere on a CD as well, so you will probably get a nice early Christmas gift when I find it ;-) It's pretty long for a movie spanking scene as well, though Florida's wailing is just a tad annoying.

Thanks for that bit of info, Richard! Like Gary, I fancy myself as someone who is well informed of spanking scenes in mainstream movies but I have to admit, I had never heard of this one either. I guess it shows that you learn something new everyday. That's what is so great about these types of forums.
