Seems a hacker managed to get into our site and then vandalized our index page

This action precipitated Google issuing a warning of possible danger to visitors of our site.

The damage has been repaired and it is perfectly safe to visit our site.

New security measures have been implemented as well.

Google has been so informed and now we just have to wait for them to confirm as much and remove their warning. Once Google does so, your virus detection programs will do likewise.

As you might imagine this has been no picnic for either myself or the people at my hosting company. None of us got a wink of sleep last night.

There's been a lot of this sort of cyber vandalism going on of late and Google is swamped with these sorts of investigations and requests.

Nonetheless... we anticipate that Google will be issuing us a clean bill of health very shortly.
