This is essentially a MySpace type survey for the spanking crowd. I might go over and post this on my MS spanking profile. I've been wondering when one of these would finally show up.

Indeed. And operated a quite successful one, too.
2. Bought/downloaded spanking pictures?
Yes, though I’m very selective with the ones that I actually save.
3. Bought/downloaded spanking magazines or literature?
I’ve bought a handful of magazines and have been very disappointed with what they
offer. They don’t cater to my particular tastes well at all. By “literature,” if you mean,
for example, stories written on the internet, then I have also downloaded those, as well.
4. Been in a spanking chat room?
Many times. One must be careful with chat rooms, though, because they are rife with
Trolls, gender-benders, and other assorted spanking community trash.
5. Bought spanking-related books in a real bookstore?
With a broad definition of “spanking related,” yes.
6. Written a spanking story?
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (i.e. when I was a young lad of
tender years) before there was a spanking community to connect to, this was the
way that I engaged my interest. I wrote many stories. I haven’t done that for a
long, long time.
7. Looked up the word "spank" in the dictionary?
In English dictionaries, and in the dictionaries of many other languages. 
8. Bought/watched a spanking video?
Watch many. Only a few that I really like. Again, it must cater to my particular likes.
9. Cyber-spanked someone or been cyber-spanked?
I’ve cyber-spanked a few, but only reluctantly. Cybering is something that I don’t
really care for at all.

Since I attend (and organize) spanking events, I’ve watched more than a few.

I’ve never been to an actual fetish shop, as something different than an adult
store which has fetish items, if that’s the question. I don’t actually know of
of any fetish shops in my general neck of the woods, either.

Since I’m the one who spanks, I don’t think that I’ve ever been in
a situation where a safeword was *needed.* I put a great deal of
importance on being in control of myself in such situations. That
being said, there have been times when I’ve given a safeword to
the spankee to be used so that she feels like she does not feel
like she’s in an out of control situation, and at events we have
established a universal “event” safeword.
27. Used your safeword/ had someone use their safeword?
One time, and recently. There was a friend who wanted to get it
really hard, so we set two words, one to “slow down,” and the
other to “stop.” I think we used ‘yellow’ and ‘red.’ I told her that
I would continue until I heard one or the other.
