Here Comes Ike
 

Well Hurricane Ike is beating on the Texas Gulf coast with full fury. Here in North Texas we are having wind and rain but nothing we can't handle. I know some forum members are over in Southeast Texas....hopefully you have made preparations or better yet, headed for safer ground.

In any event...here's hoping that everyone stays safe during this disaster.....

Thank you rangerboy for the post on Ike.

I have friends, actually my ex-boyfriend lives in Houston and has kept me updated. Galvelston of course has been hit worse and Houston also has been hit pretty bad. There are pictures everywhere of the damage. Millions are without power and some are not expected to get power for maybe 30 days. There are some good photos on www.chron.com if anyone wishes to see. Remember to keep all these people in the areas affected in your thoughts and prayers.

My uncle's stayin with us in East Texas while his power is out in Houston for God knows how long... Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later for his sake..
