Some thoughts on hairbrushes

The hairbrush is a fearsome instrument but one of my favorites probably because of it's historical domestic associations. I currently have two hairbrushes, both of which I found in antique stores. Both are quite old and I soon as I found them I could just feel that they had been used before and I don't mean for brushing hair. If they could talk I am sure they have stories to tell.
For me the hairbrush is a completely different type of spanking than the paddle which I shared my thoughts on last. I always use a brush over my knee and always on the bare bottom. Rather than a prescribed number of swats, a hairbrushing simply continues until I am satisfied that the punishment is sufficient. I like to have the lady undress down to her undies and then tell her to go to my nightstand and bring me the hairbrush. Something special about seeing a scantily clad lady coming down the hall with the brush in her hand and that look of fear and erotic dread in her eyes.
After handing me the brush I will take her panties down and pull her over my knee. I usually warm up with a quick hand spanking and then pick up the brush. Resting it on her bottom before applying quick sharp smacks to the upturned bottom. It may be neccessary to restrain hands during this procedure as they tend to want to fly back and protect the bottom.
In my opinion there is no better implement for taking a lady "over the edge" than the hairbrush if she is willing. I don't use it often but it usually results in a spankee sobbing and vigorously rubbing her bottom in the end.
Best Regards,
warm your bottom

The hairbrush is one of my favorite implement to use as well. It is light wieght, easy to use and can be use in a steady continious spanking with out a lot of effort. It produce a very hot, red, stinging, bottom quickly and a great respose from the spankee. Few things can make a spankee wiggle and squirm on your lap like a hiarbrush can.
It is also a common item that most people don't even think twice about what its used for if discover unexpectedly and is easy to just about anywhere you go. If used right can produce a very intense erotic spanking! The hotest, most intesne erotic spanking I've given was with a hairbrush; and it didn't take long to get results either!

There is only one thought that comes to my mind when it comes to hairbrush..that is punishment. If the hairbrush is mentioned or comes out, I knonw immediately that it is going to be a discipline/punishment session. My Top has said that that particular implement will never be used for fun because quite honestly there is no real way to make it fun - it hurts and is effective when used in rapid fire to create a most dreadful sting. It has always been applied to me bare and otk....a rather unusual feeling for me and in some ways feeling very vulnerable on top of the sting of the hairbrush.

just my two cents
Sherie

BlackVelvet007 03-28-2007 07:41 PM

Not sure I see the downside of Sherie's two cents. ;)

I have three hairbrushes in my toybag. The closest any of them come to "fun" is the pink plastic one labelled "ouchless". Don't you believe it. ;) The other two are wood, one light colored and one dark colored. I enjoy using them when the opportunity arises. I WOULD say that when a person has a very high tolerance, it CAN be fun to use the brush because I've known spankees who were "C.I.A." and it was all good at the time.

Another excellent topic, and once agin my preferences / opinoins are right in line with yours warmyourbottom. I love the hairbrush as a disciplinary implement because of its historical background/associationas.
Guess this would just be natural due to my old fashioned and traditional
tendencies...as well as my interest in the historical side of things.
I have used the hairbrush in play but very rarely as I feel there should be one implement that signifies discipline or punishment just from the sight of it, and the hairbrush seems to fit the bill perfectly. There's always the added bonus that this implement can be left lying around in the open both as a constant reminder and withiout arousing too many
"questions".
Like yourself I prefer to use it in an OTK application on bare bottom ( though a thin pair of panties offer precious little protection). I also enjoy either walking into the room with it in hand or having the young lady go collect it and bring it to me.

 No, no, no! Hairbrushes should only be used for brushing your hair!
Better yet, they should be banned completely!

Anyone caught selling or advertising hairbrushes as friendly and helpful products or using the words "silky smooth" in the description should be punished severely for false advertising!
Beware the scam!

Hairbrush = BAD! Hairbrush = VERY BAD!!

Finger-tousled hair = GOOD! VERY GOOD!! GREAT even!!

EricaScott 03-29-2007 11:14 PM

I'm all for banning hairbrushes too, Terry -- they suck! Combs work just fine on hair, and they can't be used against us. :D -- Erica

nightowl 03-29-2007 11:18 PM

Geeze warmyourbottom have you been watching my discipline sessions? I absolutely HATE having to go get the brush and bring it to Jax, knowing I am about to be reminded of my "transgressions" and paddled until I am indeed at the "edge", sobbing and kcking most of the time. And of course once he feels I've learned my lesson with WAY too many swats on my bare bottom, I get the scolding and then corner time to reflect. Thankfully, he doesn't use it often, saving it for those times he really wants me to pay attention.. I shutter at the mere mention of a hairbrush....

katy_spankwish 03-31-2007 12:31 PM

While the hairbrush is both fearsome and effective on me the bathbrush is 10 times worse. The length of hte handle requires very little effort from the Top which also gives them a heck of alot of endurance.

I don't tend to be very vocal during a spanking and almost never swear during one but one hard swat with that blankety blank bath brush brought a quick and reasonably loud "SON OF A BITCH!" out of me last September.

teefortexas 03-31-2007 04:15 PM

Gulp! Thanks for the warning, Katy!

And Kaylex!! Don't think I'll soon forget you almost got me smacked with one!
If gut instinct hadn't kicked in and had me jumping out of the way in time...

Boy, with friends like that...

g_r_frankfurter 03-31-2007 05:12 PM

The only thing worse than the hairbrush, is a bathbrush.

Rose 03-31-2007 05:35 PM

Oh no... you guys are starting to scare me. My husband recently purchased a bathbrush. I HATE the hairbrush, and I haven't even experienced the bathbrush yet. I wonder if he's keeping it around as a punishment implement. *shudder* I hope he forgets that it is there.

Um, Rose, One thing we can guarantee is that he will NOT forget it's there. Best advice we can give? Stay out of trouble ;)

I've often said it's not the implement but the one who wields it. Bathbrushes however are decidely a tool of discipline.

Bath brush.http://forum.team-ingame.de/images/smilies/sofa.gif Evil when used for discipline. Although I do like the one given to me for my birthday. http://www.forumeye.it/invision/html...ons/woohoo.gifThat one felt rather nice..Hairbrushes-OWWWWWWWWW !

warmyourbottom 04-01-2007 01:45 AM

I have always thought that if a spankee used profanity during her session she deserved a bit more. I guess the bathbrush might be excussed cause those things are bad. I've never used one myself but I watched one used at a party once ochhh!!!!

Speaking from the Top perspective, I would note that hairbrushes have tradition with them, and carry a good deal of cachet in the spanking world. When one wants formality and connection to the parental atmosphere, they rank with the best.

hot-spanker 04-01-2007 08:14 PM

I'm pretty traditional in my approach too,And I employ fast hard loong punnishment spankings. The hairbrush is perfect for this, and it doesn't take long to bring the girl to the wiggling, sobing we tops like so much!
I like to have the girl face me and pull her pants, and panties down.I find this highly erotic.

hot-spanker 04-02-2007 06:24 AM

 I love the hairbrush getting the point across. Yah having the sub undress to bra and panties in front of you is effective for establishing who's in charge. :D I always have the girl face me when she pulls her panties down.I find this highly erotic.

As for me, I prefer them to be facing away. We all get something a little different out of spanking. For me, the discipline aspect -- even when not real discipline -- is the focus, and so with the girl facing away attention for both is one the key part of the anatomy associated with spanking.

sarah thorne 04-04-2007 04:40 PM

The Vermont bathbrush bruised me horribly. Mean, ugly, black bruises.

Bathbrush is definitely evil. The hairbrush -- I honestly can't recall specifically, being spanked with it so few times. I am partial to leather. :D

Bathbrush vs. hairbrush

There is one out there who gets extremely happy when he is able to break toys. Of course they are never his OWN toys that are being broken.

That said my $0.97 bath brush from Walmart is Wicked and evil and should be burned.

Hairbrushes on the other hand are not quite so horrible. The fact that I'm working my way through breaking some one's collection is only slightly amusing to me. Although i have met an old Nu West Brush (clothes brush though not hair) that looks pretty wicked. But it's a discipline only brush so I'm safe.

Yay for being a FREE AGENT!

I'm a huge fan of the hairbrush and other light and small implements. I usually send the spankee to bring the hairbrush and make her stand and hold it in front of me while I scold her. I always use the hairbrush OTK and while I don't keep count of swats too often, i go with sets of rapid fire swats which really quickly bring squirming, kicking and sobbing. At one point a thin wooden one was used and my bottom went and found a new one for herself she regretted. It was from CVS or Wallgreen and it had a thin wide plastic top, but the key were the double "S" shaped opening that ran the length of the bristles. Apparently it worked like the holes in the paddle and stung immensely without leaving and bad bruising.

I'm also a fan of the bath brush and kept that reserved for bathroom punishments where she had to bend over the sink for her swats. We had a nice one reserved for punishment that I picked up at the dollar store one day and she hated that thing. The bath brush stings like hell and was as close as I came to a punishment only implement.

I make no secret that the hairbrush is my favorite implement. I love my Nu-west hair brush and use it frequently. I have quite a few brushes and I do use them quite a bit. I love to use them rapid fire on each cheek until the begging and pleading is so much I know I have to stop or get kicked!

Rosy Bottoms just sent us a box full of implements to try and I love the paddle brush and the bath brush. Totally functional and beautiful to look at as well. I can leave them out and no one thinks a thing about it.

If you have not looked at her stuff, I highly recommend her site: www.rosybottoms.com. She has beautiful implements and some other fun stuff, too; clothes, jewelry, collars, bondage equipment, etc.

Happy spanking-
Veronica

I've been told to find a NuWest hairbrush. Can any of you tell me where to find one?

Thanks for your help.

hairbrush

warmyourbottom, is right. I've been on the receiving end many a time of one of those old fashioned brushes he describes. When I am are over a knee getting a dose of reality with one of those old style brushes I can't help but kick my legs, knowing the tears will be arriving soon. Even though the paddle can sting as bad if not worse the hairbrush has a sense of adolescenct history attached to it. It certainly makes me do a dance and serious rubbing when Aunty M decides to put it to use on me. Robinsred

Hairbrushes

I agree the rosybottoms site is wonderful. They have great toys and other items.
And for sheer "attitude adjustment".....the Shadowlane hairbrushes are very good.
They are small...but the stinging impact, per square inch, is among the best at getting the attention of naughty ladies. It seems, the ladies are always talking about burning the brushes, so you know they must be doing the job!
In addition, sometimes I like to rub the spanked bottom lightly with the bristle side of the brush...just to alternate sensations, before the next delicious 'smack' lands from the wooden side of the brush!:)
It's good to keep 'em off-balance just a bit!

As most of you know, RG and I just bought a house. While packing for the move, I came across a plastic Wal-Mart bag. It contained some things of RG's, obviously from a business trip and he did his usual when he has some extra stuff but no place to immediately put it -- it goes in a bag (and usually, gets forgotten).

In this bag was the usual: a few receipts, some loose change, a couple of pens --- and a nice, oval, wooden hairbrush. I had never seen it before - and he doesn't use that kind of hairbrush so I could only assume that he came across it on one of his trips, bought it, stuffed it away and forgot all about it! It looks very much like the traditional brushes. A flat backside, and black, thick bristles.

As of yet, I haven't felt it. Not sure I wanna try it out.

Fantasy{ProfD} 07-27-2007 03:18 PM

my first hairbrush spanking was today and I never thought I could hurt this bad.

 ok so i deserved everything i got but honestly i'm new at this and am just now getting the rules down pat. I thought hand spankings over someones knee was painful, trust me i never want to see another hairbrush as long as i live.

Kate 07-27-2007 11:33 PM

I always liked leather paddles myself. Oh, and don't forget riding crops ;)

nwjblake 09-07-2007 01:32 AM

Which brush gets both cheeks at once?

A higschool senior's skirt is a foot across, and young ladies' are even wider. Will a big hairbrush get both cheeks at once? Or do you need another kind like a clothes brush to do it?

Realspankings had a great old sample clip showing a big bristled brush that went across both cheeks.

Doug P 09-09-2007 05:01 AM

Hi everyone I just joined. As a Top, I can only add that the only thing really wrong with hairbrushes is that they sometimes break. Otherwise they're a very useful tool. Doug P

AWWW come on Terry and Nightowl, you know you love the hairbrush..:)
I felt a couple of them at Shadow Lane,as well as used one on a
naughty girl.It makes you promise all kinds of things...lol...
Of course,I am sure it wasn't used that intensly on me.
But it sure was memorable to say the least.
By the way B.V. what does C.I.A. stand for..

I'm sure you COULD find some jumbo hairbrush that covers both cheeks, but it makes a much more effective statement to get a moderate sized brush and just alternate to cover the entire bottom with symmetry.

And Jean Paul, C.I.A. stands for "Cast Iron (AHEM)", a term to reflect those lovely ladies (and bad boys) who have a very high tolerance level.

paully62 09-11-2007 12:14 AM

you know the hairbrush sure seems wicked when I apply it. Really feel guilty......ok not really.

That is hilarious. Why was it fun to use the brush- because that was the only thing that worked? What was it like?

And what do you mean it was all good at the time?

Also, why does your name have 07? Is it work related haha.

Everyone:

What is the biggest kind of brush ever?

BlackVelvet007 10-21-2007 08:59 AM

The "007" tag comes from my love of the Bond films. In the local scene, people just call me 007. Here and in Texas, I'm called BV.

I say "at the time" because tolerance isn't the same for every spanking. Just because a person takes a hard spanking on Friday, one can't assume they can achieve that level every time.

Goody's seems to make the really big hairbrushes. Check your local drugstore.
